Lyrics
Peace. I used to think peace meant the problem was gone. The bill was paid. The answer came. The plan made sense. The worry moved on. Basically— if I knew enough, I could finally relax. And if I’m honest, sometimes that’s still what I want from God. Not faith. A forecast. Not trust. A timeline. Not peace. Control. [Beat enters] But Christ said, “My peace I give unto you. Not as the world giveth.” And that changes the whole thing. HOOK — rhythmic / rap-along Not when the storm stops. Peace in the rain. Not when I know why. Peace in the pain. Not when the road clears. Peace in the doubt. Not as the world gives— that’s what I’m learning about. Not when it's easy. Not when it's done. Peace in the waiting. Peace from the Son. I don't need tomorrow figured all out. Not as the world gives— that's what I'm learning about. Sometimes I pray like I’m handing God a list: Fix this. Change that. Show me the way. And sometimes He does. But sometimes I stand back up and nothing around me changed. Same problem. Same question. Same unknown tomorrow. But somehow... I changed. A little calmer. A little steadier. Still no answer— but less afraid. Maybe prayer isn’t always where God removes the problem. Maybe sometimes it’s where He teaches me how to walk through it. HOOK Not when the storm stops. Bridge — spoken There’s a word for that. Shalom. Not just quiet. Wholeness. Not a life with no trouble— a life held together by God. Maybe peace isn’t the absence of the storm. Maybe it’s knowing who is standing with me in it. FINAL HOOK Not when the storm stops. Peace in the rain. Not when I know why. Peace in the pain. Not when the road clears. Peace in the doubt. Not as the world gives— that’s what I’m learning about. I don’t need the ending. I don’t need the plan. Just enough light for the step where I stand. Not as the world gives. Not figured all out. Just Christ in the middle— and peace... right now.
